Artist, Writer and Spiritual Director
I’m Gary, and I believe spiritual growth and healing often begins when we feel truly heard.
I offer a compassionate space for people who are navigating life’s transitions, relationship challenges, crises of faith, or experiences of trauma. Together, we listen deeply to your story, explore what is stirring within you, and gently move toward greater healing, wholeness, and the person you were created to be.
Through deep listening, thoughtful reflection, silent contemplation, and creative expression, I companion people as they seek meaning, reconnect with hope, and take the next faithful step on their journey.
I would be honored to journey along side you!
MY PERSONAL JOURNEY
My sense of call began early. At sixteen, I felt drawn toward ministry in a way I could not yet fully understand. Thankfully, there were wise and caring adults in my life who recognized that calling and helped affirm it even before I had the words for it myself. After graduating from high school, I was invited to serve as a part-time pastor of a struggling inner-city church near the college I attended.
During college, seminary, and graduate school, I found myself increasingly drawn to the places where faith, spiritual formation, psychology, and the human sciences meet. Over the years, that calling has taken shape through decades of pastoral ministry, healthcare chaplaincy, spiritual direction, and one-on-one counseling with hundreds of people. Again and again, I have been grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside people as they seek healing, meaning, and hope.
As a lifelong learner, I completed several degrees, including a B.A. in Bible and Psychology, a Master of Divinity in Theological Studies, and a Master of Arts — along with completed doctoral coursework — in Spiritual Formation and Counseling. I am currently working toward certification in Traumatic Stress-Informed Care as part of my continuing commitment to learning, growth, and compassionate care.
Today, my wife Kim and I, along with our dog Zoe, live in rural western Colorado near our children and their families. From my studio in Rifle, Colorado, I serve as a spiritual director, writer and visual artist. I meet with people nearby, across the country, and around the world through Zoom, offering a grounded and compassionate space for reflection, healing, and spiritual growth.
